    best firewall?

    shall i pay or get zone alarm?

    I never liked zone alarm myself, gave me lots of errors in my event log, I use McAfee firewall now, along with McAfee virusscan pro, decent combination.

    na just this heap of crap i have now, 1800xp - i think i shall give zone alarm a try for a week or two first

    for reference, ZA blocks all internal network traffic without telling you. the hours i spend trying to debug a network ZA had broken...

    with Sygate, i have a custom rule allowing ALL traffic in the IP range 192.168.0.0 - 192.168.0.255 free access, and only querying other IPs

    zonealarm stuffed my machine a couple of times, i just use the standard xp one now.

    ZA also likes to stop quite a few LAN games randomly, even when you "unload" it as its still hiddenly loaded.
    Just got my router todo it now, with custom rules for what i need

    i've never liked zone alarm either, i've always used kerio personal firewall, always done everthing i've needed it to do
