    Plus.net help again please

OK, what I need to know is, when I migrate from AOL to Plus.net, will Plus.net charge me straight away or wait until the end of the month?

    Thanks

Any ISP normally changes you over as soon as they can. This usually takes about 3 days and is speeded up if you have your MAC number.

you will have to wait a few days I imagine, last time I changed ISP last year I had to wait that long. Things might have changed though.

    I think your mis-reading, I'll try explain again .

When I go to Plus.net's website and give them all the info for migrating, I know it will take a few days, but once they have sorted everything out will I get charged straight away, or will it be another month until they do charge me?

Like, if I order it today, and it comes into effect on 30/07/2005, will I get charged on 30/07/2005 or 30/08/2005?.

    Thanks.

OK, so that mean's I'd have to pay today, as well as on the 25/8 then?

that'd be about right - you will be billed pro-rata for the first month usually. TBH the lusnet forums are pretty good with these kind of queries - might be worth dropping in there if you've been given your username/password.

I would if I could, I can't even email them, Unless I email them via their whois/abuse email.

Can anyone else confirm what Splash said? (Second opinion type thing, that's all )

    Thanks

When we joined we got charged conection strait away which included the fist months fees. I would say yes you'd be charged. You might also have to pay any line regrade fees, ie, 14.99 to go from a 1meg to 2 meg line.

But i've head that if you ticket them they will do it for free.

I'l make a quick post in the plus forums for you.

    OK, Thanks Trippledence.

I'll be migrating from 2mb AOL to 2mb Plus.net, and it says migration is free and blahblahblah so it should be ok, but I won't be ordering for a few days since they will charge me straight away (no money in the bank for afew days)

edit: nvm, I can order it today. I'll do it tonight.

Can you confirm that I will be charged Trippledence? (Do other's say you will on the Plus.net forums?)

If your transfer if free I doubt they will charge you until the end of your first month. Thats how it was when I was with plus.net a year ago.

That's what I thought at first, it's all VERY confusing. It's bloody pathetic you can't even contact Plus.net without signing up first .

Gladfully Trippledence is able to help me out via the plus.net forums.

Got a reply that sums it up pretty well.

Hi there, Your first payment will be due once the line is activated or in the case of migration once that is complete. Subsequent payments will follow monthly on the date your adsl became active. Should there be any delays with mogration or activation Plus Net will adjust your billing date accordingly to reflect any down time.
