NTL. Doesnt stop them from sending me adverts though.

So whats the guess on up loads then will it be at least 1 Mbit? i hope so.
to build a new network costs lots more than you would think. Literally the money spent paying councils and just getting permission costs millions and millions. the actual work is cheap as chips in comparison. the Gov wont help - NTL are to rich and the majority of the company is owned by non-british parties and as such the interest is purely money making and not service orientated.

Uploads will shock you (in London) when there main prject comes around late next year - gives me giggles.

uncharmed its just wishful thinking on my part.
If there was roughly equal competition with BT then maybe we would get more progress.

The speed increase sounds nice but i'm on NTL now and I just wish they would stop using their terrible web caches. The one for my area is totally dead so you get absolutely no web access unless you manually set the proxy for another area. Their cable TV is also terrible in the way it orders channels and the digibox has very poor and frustrating software. Luckily i'm moving soon and will switch back to Sky for my TV (and probably ADSL for my BB).

This sounds good as long as they can keep it up and running, after going from 750k to a 2Meg connection the reliability was terrible, then you have to phone India to get things sorted out (last time I tried anyway)

And with a 75GB/month cap thats not too bad, but did you notice how they neglected to mention the capping the last time they upgraded? If they did I certainly didn't find it in the e-mails, only after some searching on the website.

But 10Meg for £34.99 a month doesn't sound too shabby to be honest.
