Xbox & Pc Networked

Question if i want to network my pc and my xbox (xbox live) how do i set up the DSL modem and Router?

Should it go wall ==> dsl modem ==> router then to the xbox and pc?

or do i need to switch the router and dsl modem?
iam not sure if i even need the router, any help would be lovely thanks

first option. basically the router allows lots of boxes - be them pcs, consoles etc, to talk to one modem/net connection, as if they were one box. might not work on some games, i dunno

If the router is any good then normally it can make the connection itself and you can remove the DSL modem from the config completely. otherwise it is as you suggested.
