Virtual Servers

Just got myself a Buffalo WMR-G54 to replace my 3com wireless box.

All setup, working fine (after hours of searching for my username and password for the bb account!!)

I'm running a server on my desktop that's plugged into it, and I've setup the virtual server on it so I can access my site from the outside world (mobile and going through proxify).

But I can't access it from any computers on the LAN.

Any ideas?

Is the machine on the same interface as the other computers? ie is it wired and the others wired, or wireless and wireless? Some wireless routers do not bridge those two connections and so you may need to reconfigure the router to do so? I don't have any hands on experience with this router, but I have seen that before with a few others.

trying to hit the machine from itself - won't work :s all my systems can ping each other, just not access http stuff from the server.

The router is probably the problem here, I had the same with a Netgear router. If you add an entry in the hosts file on your pc it will allow you to access the site BUT it won't test that its working correctly with the outside world.
