Demon Internet - 2Mb connection and unlimited downloads/usage for £19.99 per month. Will work fine with your router too (as will any other ISP).

If you go on PN's Broadband Plus at £14.99 you'll find that P2P is so severely limited they might as well block it (10KB/s max).

The £21.99 Broadband Premier doesn't have the same throttles as the BB+ and is fine for P2P. However if you go over 100GB per month you'll be contacted about overuse (cap that isn't a cap but is a cap etc).

Judging by your OP your not a heavy user anyway.

You'll find that theres very few 1MB services 'as such'. You'll see that the various ISP's will provision your line upto its maximum speed. Say you went with Demon or PN, you would pay £14.99 or £19.99 (whatever) and your line will simply sync at its fastest speed be it 512K, 1Mb or 2Mb.

They cant guarantee that you will get 2Mb though, so dont believe the marketing. You'll find 'upto 2Mb' in small type on the advert and/or in the terms and conditions. Its line length and BT which define the final speed your line will sync at (without getting very technical).

Well the makets changed over the past few weeks (Plusnet/AOL moved the goalposts etc/Demon have carp speeds) - I think you've hit the nail on the head there, wether you sign up to a 2Mb service (or 'upto 2Mb' - as the terms and conditions will tell you) - your still limited by line length/BT's limits - at the time of writing F2S offers 'unlimited' for the best price (& performance).
