Used f2s for the last couple of years (at different addresses).
Very reliable service (though the email server occasionally goes down). Apart from that, and administrative glitch when they forgot to cancel my account when I moved house, they've been excellent. They're my ISP of choice unless I find a better one. Don't forget that if you cancel your account within the first 12 months you have to pay a fee - about £50-£60.
NDO are supposed to very good, but their package is quite a bit more expensive.
Don't Demon insist on a 12 month contract?
ITS +VAT?????!!!!!!!!!!!!!! where does it say that?
Also, in the faq it says:
If your service had a Waived Activation Fee and you request a MAC Code before holding the service for a full 12 months then this fee must be paid by cheque before we issue a MAC Code.
But if i migrate they dont have an activation fee, so i dont have to pay?

demon is 1 year only and ndo really is expensive.
EDIT: i thin freedom2surfs prices do include VAT cause the bussiness prices say ex vat on them, but the home does not

F2S have been great with my migration from wanadoo. I had 5mins downtime which they warned me aboutn and it was just about the easiest thing in the world to do. Big thumbs up![]()
It is £24.99 inc VAT. I migrated from Zen a few days ago (sorry guys, you are great but a lil costy). On the other hand, it does not include a set of IP range (meaning you must use NAT if you have multiple PCs to be connected online) like Zen does. Thats another £5.88 if you take the IP packs.
It is basically a bargain. Zen 512kps is 24.99 too, and to upgrade to 1 or 2Mbit, I'd have to pay something. Here its free migration that takes my speed up to 2Mbit, while keeping the benefit of monthly contracts and same monthly price.
I expect to hit some contention issues, but really, it can't get any slower than a maxed 512 connection...
Migration only took about 15 hours -although- there was a ~3 hours downtime.
I was going for the 19.99 10gb limit one

FYI Demon is going through central capacity problems atm, so I wont recommend them until they've sorted it. They are also sending emails to ppl who complain explaining contention - not good imo.
As an ISP, Freedom2Surf have been great. Their service has been reliable, and when there was a fault that BT needed to sort out they were happy to call out an engineer to confirm that the problem was at the exchange end, no charge.
The speeds have been pretty decent, and the only time I had downtime was when a credit card expired any so they couldn't automatically take the payment for the bill. So, for service provision, they've been excellent - I've had a number of websites running on my machine at home over the ADSL connection and the sites have rarely been unavailable.
When I wanted to upgrade to a 2Mbit service with them I couldn't use their interface to request the free regrade, because my ADSL connection was 'too old', according to them, but when I requested it via email, they performed the regrade as requested.
However, I'm currently trying to transfer to BeThere in order to get 24Mbit ADSL2+ service, and need a MAC code from them. Emailed support, who didn't respond. Emailed support again, who just sent an email address of broadbandadmin@freedom2surf.net. Emailed that address, and have received no response. This has been going on since the 2nd of September, so it looks as though while they're responsive and helpful when you're with them, if you try to transfer away from them they can't be bothered to do what's required of them - so be warned about this potential problem.
Having spent the best part of half an hour in a queue waiting for Freedom2Surf support to answer their phone, I've now got a MAC code from them... they claim to have sent an email once (which may have bounced or something - I haven't seen it), and weren't aware of the 2nd request for a MAC code somehow... but managed to get the confirmation form to me this time, and then promptly issued the requested MAC code. So, still unimpressed, given 22 minutes of holding music followed by immediately being transferred to another queue... but they have at least done what they are supposed to eventually.
