    ADSL2+ : speed vs Distance

The following is a good indication as to what speeds to expect with the forthcoming releases of ADSL2+

    http://www.internode.on.net/adsl2/graph/index.htm

    Nice huh ?

looks like I'll get the full 24 Mb then...

If you do not know your distance then check www.samknows.com for further information.

The distance on the sam knows site can be a bit misleading as it only gives you straight line distance, not line length..

I'm only about 1.9 KM away from the exchange straight line, but the phone line here is about 5 KM long

If you're *really* unlucky you might get aluminium lines instead, which are even worse!

with BT's crummy straight lines i'll be lucky to get 6mbit at best.. assuming they ever bother to install ADSL2+ equipment in my local exchange.
