    Intel Pro/Wireless 2100 3B Problem - fails to reconnect after standby/hibernation.

I was wondering if anyone can help me with my wireless mini PCI adaptor.

It's a Intel Pro/Wireless 2100 3B adaptor. Everything works perfectly, but when I put the system into standby or hibernation, the radio on the device switches off and does not reconnect.
Nothing can be done to solve this, unless i reboot and we are back to square one.

I know this is a known fault with this adaptor and apparently the lastest drivers fix this (i.e. Driver 1.2.4.35 & PROSet 7.1.4.5).
**I HAVE DOWNLOADED THESE AND THEY DONT WORK FOR ME**
I have uninstalled prior to reinstalling.

Does anyone know of a solution??

    Thanks

It does it in standby AND hibernate? Don't put it in standby or hibernate until you get the problem sorted. My Turion64 works fine with it's Broadcom.

Is it not connecting to your access point/router or is it not connecting to the www? Is this a home network or away (school, coffee shop, etc...)?

well, it does it when i close the lid, when it switches off after inactivity.

It's not connecting to my WAP...in fact, the radio is off and no way to switch it back on.

When you say radio you mean the laptop card right? Are you using a Thinkpad? Win XP?

    1. Dont close the lid
    2. There will prob be an option to enable / disable radio eg. Shift F4 on Dells.
    3. Change your power options so close lid doesn't suspend
    4. Hibernate / standby means exactly that - your laptop IS NOT RUNNING. If you don't want your Wifi off, then don't put it into standby / suspend.

Yeah, that is all and well, but i want to conserve power....not putting it into standby will run it dry in no time.
