    > 2MB Broadband in London

I am looking for a 4-8 MB/s (or more ) broadband service in London.

The only 2 I am currently aware of are Bulldog and BE.

Bulldog I have heard nothing but bad stuff about......does anyone here use them? What do you think of them? Good or bad.

BE are rolling out ADSL2 from what I understand but they are not in my area (SE6) yet and don't have an ETA either

I am currently on a Pipex 2MB unmetered package which is excellent but I want faster

i've heard good things about ukonline. i'm with bulldog though, as they offered me 1/2 price for 3 months, which was nice. had no problems with bulldog and is certainly fast. bulldog is owned by Cable & wireless which is a ftse100 company with a market cap of 1.36TRI GBP, so there's plenty of muscle behind it and i imagine their customer service issues will get sorted.
i imagine ukonline use LLU, but when reading their website, they don't seem to require you to switch your phone line to them (bulldog do) - that may be factor if you don't want to switch from BT....

I'm with Bulldog at the moment, but not for much longer.
They can be pretty good as long as nothing goes wrong.

Unforunately I don't fall into that camp and their customer service is pretty lousy.

I've had my connection dying intermittently for the last few months, and apart from front line staff telling me to check all my modem settings, I've not been able to speak to anyone.
Plus (which may not be entirely unrelated), we've discovered recently about problems with our Bulldog phone line (which you have to take). It appears that some people have been having problems getting through...

As far as I can tell, the C&W are at least a contributary factor. From I've read Bulldog didn't do too bad when they were limited to London (and may still be, I don't know cos I'm in warwickshire), but the C&W takeover was followed by some pretty rapid expansion, that they don't seem to have the staff to cope with...

Khizman, why do you reckon F2S are going down the pan shortly? They've just been acquired by Pipex to broaden their Broadband offerings - which may see some of their prices change, but should ensure greater stability?
F2S have been a good provider to me, although I'm switching to BeThere... (shameless plug, anyone wanting a free month from BeThere pm me your email and I'll send you an Invite offering the first month free on your signup).
Shaithis, you may want to consider whether anyone you switch to will want a minimum contract period, if you're going to want 24MBit ADSL2+ as soon as its available in your area - for reference, I'm in SE2, right on the border of Kent, and it's available in my area, so hopefully that'll mean it's not too long for you to wait.

People have been concerned about speed throttling.
Pipex invested 10mil to make a profit right?

If you want information on >2MBit services, you may do well to check out ISPReview.co.uk - they've got reviews and news and other information on most of the ADSL providers... BeThere have made a couple of statements to them regarding their problems with service provision and delivery (I've been waiting 5 weeks for a transfer because BT didn't respond to their transfer request and Be didn't check on it - I've just had to get a new MAC code and still don't know when I'll be switched over)
