Angry Demon and the Debt Collectors

    Quick summary-
Joined Demon in 16/04/2002, they were good ISP. Wanted more speed, so migrated to Zen. Started process on 18/02/2005. Switched onto Zen on 02/03/2005. Zen brilliant!
Payment dates for Demon by direct debit were 29/11/04, 05/01/2005, 28/01/2005 and 01/03/2005; all for £24.99.

    Today-
Get phonecall from Debt Collection Agency to tell me they have been instructed by Demon to recover funds that I owe them for £62.88 ..... WTF!!!! Unfortunately their phonelines are closed for the day. I said to the man (who is only doing his job) that if anything they owe me money - look at dates above - and he then said it wasnt the first time he had heard that about Demon.

    Is this common?
    What would you do?

    Help!!??!!!

I had a similar problem when I migrated from Nildran to Pipex earlier this year....

At the time I thought it was odd as my connection stopped working within a few days of asking for a migration (figured out I had been switched over fast) and I had to contect Pipex to ask what my connection details were......thought nothing more of it.

Then about 5 months later Nildran were contacting me about the money I owed them.....then they sent the court threat and I made a few phone calls.......it seems when you migrate at least one of the companies can lose the information....

I came out of it a fair few quid up

Just contact them and explain their error.
