Just done a remote scan & found ports 260 & 557 open. Should I be concerned?
netstatp tells u what programs using what ports, damn handy:
http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/TcpView.html
throw new ArgumentException (String, String, Exception)
do you ave any vms / openvms type stuff ???? i think that uses the 557 port
Still, at least you blocked em - you will soon know if you needed them
http://www.iana.org/assignments/port-numbers
260 is for a protocol /application called openport , which I've not heard of.
as previously mentioned , 557 is vms type sctuff
mostl ikely no need for it to be open as such

There the 2 I know of off-hand or alternatively you could "nmap" if your on a network![]()

its not proof of a safe network.
you should deny all unsolicited incoming traffic on your network , other than those specifically mapped to services / blackholes
good tool for seeing exactly what apps are using what ports is activeports - I think theres a link to it in the sticky.
