    Recomend me a better ADSL modem/router :)

    Hi guys

I have been having loads of problems with my wireless setup, and have narrowed it down to the router - I think .

Basically, anytime the router is placed under load, say for example transferring big files, streaming a divx, or running bit-torrent, or e-mule - it crashes, and needs to be turned on and off to get it working again. So it looks like it is the router, right ?

Anyway, this is my setup :

    1 x Download Box PC/Server - Connected via Cat5 cable to the port on the router - running bit-torrent/emule etc 24/7 . Has 500gb storage for movies/mp3's etc .

1 x Laptop - Only has an 801.b card in - just used for web browsing etc

1 x Media server - has a belkin wireless PCI card in - b and g compliant, so can do upto 54mbps. Used for playing large divx files etc etc from the download box. Sits in the living room.

I have 2mb Plus.net broadband, which i have had no problems with whatsoever.

Can you recommend a good router - that wont crash ! At the moment I have a linksys WAG54G ? Do you guys think I should replace it ?

    Thanks

    Mehul

Upgrade the firmware to the latest official one or take a chance and go with the unofficial ones that are reported to work better.

Just thought i quote that..... I like PN but hate them also (but thats another thread)

Have you had a look at the Dreytek routers?
from what i have heard they are very good and reliable - may be worth looking into.

If you want compatability with ADSL2+ then the NG might not be your best option as while it can handle the speed (just) it dies after X hours.
