    erm.... wtf

Was jsut chatting to my bro on webcam and then closed it too try connect to a cs:s server, and there was no net connection. I couldnt do a resotre as it was suspended due to no space.
i tried to repair connection and i am getting " The following steps of the repair failed" Renewing IP address

I did a ipconfig/all in cmd and got nothing shwoing for Connection-specific DNS suffix and Default gateway.

Im confused as to what has happpened here as both other pcs are still on the network. All i have done since i been back from work was install logictech quickcam software and take myt ipaq out of the Usb bay that is connected to my pc.....

    Please help guys

Edit, when i go to my lan connection and then support, the ip im getting is 169.254.251.209, and above it says automatic private address
    Thanks

Not enough info to help you there I'm afraid.
I can tell you trhat whatever network connection you tried to fix couldn't get a response from a DHCP server but is connected at layer 2. If its on a home network that meant the cabling between teh PC and teh switch is OK but if you use a USB broadband router I'm not sure.

you are on a DHCP network and it can't find the DHCP server to give you a new address.

Badass is right in saying, if its a home network and you have a ethernet cable to your local router which is the internet connection you need to type

ipconfig /renew (into a cmd prompt)

otherwise i'd suggest reseting the usb internet router etc otherwise.

    Go to command prompt,
    Type in;
    ipconfig /release
    ipconfig /renew

Then give it a moment, see if that helps. If you have DHCP enabled, then you have to let the gateway assign the IP address for you, rather than setting it manually.

bear in mind the "repair" button is the same as ipconfig /renew, so he's already tried it

try rebooting your DHCP server (router?)

    Yes and agreed

Like I said before, we need more information.
