    which cable wireless router?

hi, i will need a router in teh next few weeks for my ntl BB, will have to be wireless.
i will be using it for my PC, DS, xbox/xbox360 and maybe a psp and laptop at some point.

not got a clue about routers let alone wireless ones, so i've got around £50 to spend and would like a good router please.

could add say £10-£20 more if it's really worth it.

    thanks

    Asus WL 500G

It connects via an ethernet cable to the STB and it has 4x 10/100 ethernet ports plus a wireless transmitter.

I can strongly recommend the Netgear DG834G - very easy to set up - took 10 minutes literally - has an superb set up wizard and the layout for chnging stuff is brilliant - even my dad could do it. Never loses connection. Amazon did have a special on where you get a free wireless usb dongle - total cost @ £58 so I'm sure others must be close.

Isn't this an ADSL type? Doesn't this person just require a wireless router that their exisiting cable modem plugs into?

The one I use is the Buffalo WYR G54 (I have NTL).

Performance and signal strength has been exceptional. Am very surprised. Cheap as well.

Have to agree, they are a corking router, can do alot of clever things. I find the USB handy on mine, infact im just about to upgrade to the deluxe version http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=170238

I can recommend the Linksys WRT54GC. Great little router/gateway.

I had the Asus and tbh it had a few clever bits inc a linux core but was never that great.
If you could use the USB &/or parallel port feature then maybe.

Edit: looking at it they have improved it quite a bit it seems. maybe then a viable option as its so cheap.

I have this router. what "mods" are you talking about. Can you point me in the right direction?
I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.
