    Another BY cable?

    Lo!


    So my makes assrape my ping with their lame edonkey or whateever, and, yeah, no chance of playin CS. So I was wondering if I can have a 2meg, and another 1meg in the same house, under different name...?

    Blueyonder cable? No chance, they only allow one cable modem per house, I did enquire about it when I was at uni..

    The only way you could get around that is make the others buy in a BT line and ADSL, and then you use the BY 2Meg cable service, but that would be *very* expensive.

    a dsl line wouldn't be too much - I have no idea about BY's pricing , but you can get 2 meg dsl for £90 quid a month or 512k for under £25 if you shop around.

    my m8 got 2 512k lines in his house 1 on each floor

    Well a while ago we had some problems and the techy guy showed up today (although I though they atomaticaly cancel the apointments, anyway) I asked him if we can have more than one IP addy's on a house and he told me to phone 150 to make sure.

    Oh, we pay 50quid for 2meg

    i thought u were only aloud to have 1 cable connection per house hold

    If it's a university house they maybe you can argue it about having two flats or something, but normally they'll just tell you no.

    Alright, talked to them, I just have to get it under the name of the guy who has the 2meg line, i.e. you can't have more than one person having a contract per house, if that makes sence.
