Monitoring Users internet usage

Does anyone know of any way to monitor a users internet usage without installing software on their pc?

A user at home, with a static ip & a Netgear DG632 router.

Also is there anyway to calculate the amount of data downloaded into minutes spent online?

if the router supports snmp , change the snmp settings and use somethin like PRTG to pick up traffic data from your system ?

I dont think you can convert the two figures without more info - for example an hours browsing would use the same data as 10 minustes downloading?

If you use tiscali, go to their website, log in, click on My Account both details are there.

Can anyone recommend a software product that could be installed on each pc, run silently in the background & automatically email usage stats to an address either daily or weekly?

good stuff - sounds like you have some remote workers that HR has taken an interest in ?

ensure that the AUP covers home workers as well
