    AOL and Origo ASR-8100 router

    Hi

I'm going to sell my old router (Origo ASR-8100) to my mate as I've upgraded to wireless. He's using AOL (eeeeeeew) and i want to make sure it'll work fine with it.

I've read a bit about creating a new screen name for every computer...is this still the case? He needs to use AOL for him emails and things or do I just login the router with him screen name and password?

    Cheers

    Tim

They also have a list of supported devices, but I would say you could use anything:

Not strictly true, the main difference between AOL and any other provider is that the MTU for AOL must be 1400. So in other words you need a router with a changable MTU setting.

Belkin, Netgear and Linksys spring to mind, not sure about the origo one that the original poster mentions.

    Hi

    Thanks for the replies.

I've posted a message on the adsltech.com forums (they're the official support people for it or something - Origo is now Safecom or something or other)

    Cheers

    Tim
