PCMCIA card from vodaphone is the most common, i've no expeirance of these, they seam expensive, very. Often called a 3G datacard.

Talk to a vodaphone person probably best bet for that.

Or whats your excisting phone, i use mine via bluetooth to dial a "modem" connection which is GPRS for email + MSN.

Hmm you might be able to use a data cable.

but heres a nice waste of money you might not of thought about.

SP5 mobile phone (if you can get one)

SP3 is a cheaper option, but not as nice screen.

A Windows Mobile, SmartPhone has messenger, you can set up ur email. Even use actisync to ur laptop via bluetooth to keep your email in check, but you might not need to bring ur laptop.

I use messenger all the time on my MPx220 Windows Mobile phone, its really good for these "bull****" guest lectures i have to sit through.

I use GPRS with amotorola phone via the USB port - it gives about 115Kb/s throughput. Costs via a work package £1/Mbyte. Retail - not sure - at least £2.50 (vodaphone). Look at their website. (I think all the major players offer GPRS - it is priced on data download - so you can leave it connected all day - expensive if you get a lot of spam, or someone sending you a 2Mbyte video clip!

As previous poster said, you can get a PCMCIA card - as always, the catch is in the cost of ownership...

Anyone using GPRS with a laptop/PDA really should think about using onspeed. Not only will it increase your speeds quite a bit, it will dramatically reduce your data charges.
