Broadband Question

hi,

how do you find your upload or download speeds.

I currently pay £29.99 for a 1MB broadband connection but they reckon it's a good deal.

I don't know any better so I wondered if there is any way to check?

If you have a router the interface which you log into on the web showing you router settings etc will usually tell you.
Alternatively there are all sorts of programs, give it a google for speed tester or the like.

he is with IDnet.net. Over at my other forums we have an offer with IDnet, whereas if you get 25 constructive posts, we hook you up with 2mb uncapped broadband for £14.99 per month. PM me if you want the link.

As Davos has said my ISP is IDnet its through a deal with a forum - if you PM him he can give you more info.

Customer support is excellent idnet proud themselfs on the fact that their network is not over subscribbed and there is no contension on their network.

Personally £29 for 1mb is quite expensive considering for £32 from a cable provider you can have 10mb broadband - My old ISP Plus.net charged me £21 for 2mb.

Have a good look around www.adslguide.org.uk, you'll soon realise that £29.99 p/m is pretty expensive!

Bulldog doing 8meg for £9.99 a month.

It maybe capped, but you dont need a BT line (but you pay bulldog an extra £9.99 a month), you can cancel at anytime (no 12 month contract) and you pay a bit extra for a higher allowance. Might be worth looking at.

IDNET are deffo worth looking at. I have the same deal as Ramage - £14.99 uncapped 2mb broadband - great personal service and truly excellent line speed.

Even if you don't have the forum deal they are deffo worth taking a look at:

I pay about £28pm for the 'up to 8meg' inter@ctive package with Bulldog. Been with them for over a year now and on this package for about 4/5months.

I connect at 8072Kb downstream and 576Kb upstream.

Also have to pay £10.50pm line rental to Bulldog.
