    XP Network Connections Question

I've noticed that my LAN connection is numbered 4 and my Wireless connection is numbered 8 in my system tray. I assume this is from installing and uninstalling adapters. I can see these and all the previous entries in the Registry.

So, is there a way of removing all my LAN and Wireless (and Bluetooth) entries to reset them all to number 1 (apart from using regedit)?

The reason I want to do this is that I want to install a new wireless PCI adapter and don't want the numbers increasing.

You can simply rename them in "My Network Places", "View Network Connections".

Mine is Wirless network connection 2 or 3 at present.
