Any router should work with NTL should it not (apologies if im totally wrong),

just enter your username and pw on the web interface (usualy accessible by sticking "192.168.1.1" in your browser of choice) and click connect
"If you're not on the edge, you're taking up too much room!"

kidzer is wrong here I'm afraid, ADSL routers have a different WAN port to the standard ethernet WAN port that cable routers use. I'm still not totally impressed with wireless about 4 years on, having gone through 3 routers, I've kept this Linksys WRT54GS (with modified firmware) the longest, strangely enough it was the cheapest out of the 3 routers I had bought.

Another vote for Linksys here, I have a WRT54G. Been working great with NTL for nearly 2 years now.

Telewest or NTL, you can't use an ADSL router which has a modem built in to it to provide the ADSL interface!

I also use a linksys WRT54G on NTL with no problems.
I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.

True - the original post didn't define which service he was trying to use - I just assumed cable!

I use a US robotics on Telewest. It comes with a built in print-server, meaning all your PCs can use the printer, without the one the printers connected to having to be on. USB printers only.

    My System: Coolermaster Centurion 5 (black) case, Intel E6750 Core2Duo, Tagan Easy-Con 530W, Asus P5B Deluxe WIFI, OCZ 2GB Kit (2x1GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 CL 4-4-4-15 PLATINUM XTC, Samsung SpinPoint 200Gb SATA2 / 2 x Maxtor DiamondMax 10 200Gb SATA, 256Mb Sapphire ATI PCI-E X1950PRO, Creative X-Fi Xtreme 7.1, 19" Daewoo W9ZQ Black Widescreen TFT, 4Mb Virgin Cable Broadband (formerly Blueyonder) with Linksys WRT54GL Wireless-G and DD-WRT firmware.

I use a Netgear MR314 with NTL and it's been fine for me. I've had it a while now (4 years-ish). It's only 11b, so there must be better (11g) available now.

PCPro did a labs review last summer.

As with all PCPro/CustomPC reviews, always click the "read comments" button at the bottom to see if people have had any problems. Manufactures often send super kit for review and then don't actually sell it to the public

The Belkin Pre-N looks pretty good with cable. Scan have them in stock for £87

If you also need a wireless card (for your laptop or whatever), then it's probably worth looking at a bundle.

I think any product that has wireless and has a RJ45 WAN port, that fits your budget and has good reviews will probably fit the bill. I wouldn't buy into any vendor being better than another - all vendors generally have product some rubish routers. Check some maufacturers websites some have demo interfaces for their products that they sell so you can see what the web interface is like before you invest.
