    Is the Linksys wag354g ok?

    Hi,

A mate is after a Linksys Wag354g. Has anyone got any experience good or bad with these? He's a bit tight so won't spend much.

I got one I use at my mrs's house so i can have wireless net when i take my lappy over there.

Really nice bit of kit, has the option to hook an external aerial if need be, with it being on the bottom floor of her house and me getting near perfect signal 3 floors up, I haven't felt the need to use an external aerial.

    I'd recommend one.

    Thumbs up Linksys WAG354G

I also bought one of these in the PC World sales.

I had absolutely no prev knowledge of how to build a network before I started, and found it very easy to set up and configure.

It now runs with my wifes laptop and my desktop via a card and a USB adapter respectively.

The only issue I have is that I have routed my playstation2 through it, and I have encountered problems getting connected to some online games (Champions of Norrath, Everquest Online Adventures) and linksys are not one of the recommended modem/routers on the list at soe.sony.com

In short, I would recommend unless you are intending to spend lots of time online with your PS2.

    All the best.

Just a little tip - they can get quite hot, and so seem to run a lot better when on their end, with the aerial pointing upwards .
