Question a bit of help please

hi guys and girls, im thinking of getting a 2mb bb package with newnet, i have a few questions about some things.

    1) is newnet any good? im looking at their 25gb package at £17.95 seems fine for my usage. surfing and occ. d/ling and now and again gaming.

    2) my bt point is in my hallway and my pc is in my living room, i currently use dialup and a 10m extesion reel. is this suitable for adsl or will i need to put the modem near the bt point and run a long ethernet cable?

    many thanks

    1) I would suggest talking to other Newnet users to see their experiences and hanging around the forums at http://www.adslguide.org.uk to see if people have any issues.

    2) It really depends on your distance from the exchange since the interferrence on the extension may just be enough to cause a problem synch'ing. If you are planning a permanent setup, then it may be an idea to install a proper extension to the phone line in the house so that you minimise any interferrence that may cause you problems - instead of having an ethernet cable trailing about.
