Can someone tell me what to make of this? IM positive when i signed up i signed up to premier service with no cap at all.

Now whats the hell is this about and can anyone direct me to somewhere else as i do not want to be part of this company anymore.

Steve @ work just got the same email as he's always playing CS, WoW and battering his connection.

Now his ping is pathetic at peak times with him constantly seeing nearer to 100-200 rather than the sub 30 he used to see.

I think they've shot themselves in the foot now... what happens with all these people with media Centre like me that use the "online content" and watch video's at music brigade which easily uses over 100 Gb a month if constantly watching that Eric Prydz video

30GB in peak times a month. And thats on the premier service!!!

They have implemented several layers of cap.

for example on my contract they have 2 peak times, one for http traffic which is from 4pm to midnight and another for FTP/p2p/usenet etc which is from 8am to midnight.

Peak time cap is 5gb and off peak is 30gb.

Its complete rubbish imo, I am going to freedom2surf in the next couple of days.

mgh0 - don't go f2s. They've just implemented even stricter traffic shaping than plus.net

I have no idea who to go with now...

BTW I've just replied to your thread - I had the same problem. Any plus.netters take note - the usage meter on their website shows a different "peak time" to what they measure for limiting you. 8am-6pm is what the portal displays as "peak time", but they monitor 8am-midnight....

LOL I'm glad I'm with bulldog, even if they have crap customer Services and are hard to contact.

I have "battered" my connection occasionally and download a LOT thanks to MCE2005 but have I had a letter whinging or saying we're moving the goalposts ?

Nope... and looking at the above I'm going to stop where I am until my ADSL2+ becomes available.

having shopped around and spoken on the phone to a good half dozen ISPs I am off to eclipse, as I am migrating the first month is free, monthly contract and an assurance that traffic shaping is not in use.

i just had my final warning from Tiscali - apparantly im not adhering to their fair use policy - its crap though, i finish work at 6pm and i go to bed at midnight - their "peak hours" are from 6pm - 11pm and so cant use P2P etc. Its handy that the month after i signed up they emailed me to tell me of new peak hours. i cant belive what has happened to plusnet they used to be really good. but now there are just plain sh*t, im sick to the back teeth with them, they change there T&C more times than i dont know what ..
