You'll setup your digital media home and then use stuff like shoutcast et al for internet radio and within a few months they'll limit you to speeds akin to dial-up connectivity.

the limiting now ISP's for the sake of our mental health and also business. What about homeworkers that remote to systems from home, surely limiting like this would affect their connections as well ?

I agree the way that plus net has handled their download caps is really rubish but other than that i can't see the problem.

I can't remember exactly how ISPs are charged for ADSL by BT, but it does vary on the amount of data transfered through a connection. At the prices some ISPs are charging they must be making penies a month from uses, so it's no surprise they want to keep their costs under control.

If you want completely unmettered broadband you are going to have to pay sugnificantly more than the £15 plus charge for their bsic service.

I PAY £35 A MONTH to Zen as they are reliable and def unlimite - was metronet before pusnet bought them out..

Whilst a lot of ISPs are being VERY unethical over the "unlimited" that is very limited - given BTs charging system its inevitable - but its the way they do things rather than the actual capping thats bad.

Heavy users who expect unlimited bandwidth for £15 a month are daft TBH..
