    Angry Problems with Wireless

    Please could somebody help me?

I bought a PCI wireless network card and a PCMCIA wireless network card for my laptop. In my Server (Named "Desktop") I have 2 wired network cards, there is 1 going to the cable modem and then one going to a normal network. I have tried using ICS and then bridging these connections, when I do this it works fine on the wired network and on the wireless network I can see the other computer in the workgroup computers but I cannot ping, renew ip or get a connection to the net, but I can see the shared files and copy them.

I also tried WinRoute yet again with no look.

    Please can somebody help?

set up your TCP/IP connection settings manually for the wireless NICs - ensuring that you enter the gateway address of "Desktop" and DNS address of "Desktop" which by default will be 192.168.0.1

so set up TCP/IP as follows on the wireless devices:

    IP Address: 192.168.0.10
    Subnet: 255.255.255.0
    Gateway: 192.168.0.1
    Primary DNS: 192.168.0.1

and set up the other one as:

    IP Address: 192.168.0.11

    all the rest as above.

it should do yes, as TCP/IP doesn't care about whether it's being routed over a ethernet network or over a wireless connection - all it cares about is that it can see a gateway to route through to the internet otherwise it will try to communicate with remote hosts (on the internet) as if they were on the local LAN => will just time out.
