I did have to think hard about maths - couldn't work out cm to metres
1m = 100cm, so you got the right length there. Why dont you patch some yourself David ?
Primary kit:
Fuji S5 Pro - Nikkor AF 50/1.8 - Nikkor AF 85/1.8
Epson RD-1
Film Kit:
Leica M3 - Summicron 50/2 DR - Zeiss ZM 25/2.8 - M-Rokkor 40/2
Olympus OM2n - Zuiko 50/2 Macro - Zuiko 50/1.4 - Zuiko 35/2.8
ebuyer have some very cheap 50cm ones - but only if you want green. Blue is much more expensive to make, obviously!!

.3m not bad, if you want bulk of 50 they've got some cheaper ones, i've used these guys before, found them very helpful.

Crimping tool + RJ45s + cable and boots?
Learn to crimp... It's really easy when you get the hang of it and you can create cables in exactly the length you want.
No it's not! I hate making cables! Doing wiring on patch panels and sockets are fine, but I really really hate doing cables. Either that, or I'm just crap at it! (Which is probably the most likely option)Originally Posted by Woodchuck2000

Even the best crimpers reject appx 50% of the cables they make due to them not working properly when they test them after moving them about a bitOriginally Posted by mike_w

Not at all. I've never worked in a factory "you must make 1,000 cables a minute or we whip you harder!" environment but when I used to make up cables I only use to get the odd bad one (maybe one in 5 max once I got the hang of it).
I never crimped a bad cable....
I hate crimping though

How did you test your cables?Originally Posted by TeePee

I test mine by plugging them into a hub... I think the eject rate depends on the quality of the crimping tool - if you use a good quality crimp tool and die set, and ensure the cables are pushed fully home in the plug, there is little to go wrong. I think I have only ad two failures in over 100 plugs...
