    Talking USB ADSL (for single pc) Modems

    As title, I just need a dsl modem of use with one pc.

    Dose it make any difference which one you use ?
    main ones I've seen are:
    * SpeedTouch 330 USB Modem
    (Most comen one, is this the el-cheapo ? of modems)
    * D-Link 300G+
    (Zen use these)
    * Prestige 630
    (nildram use these, so they must be ok right ?)

    Thankx, Dave

    i'd push for an ethernet modem rather than USB, that way if you change your mnind later you can add a modemless router to the equation rateher than having to replace it completely...

    Most USB modems offer pretty similar performance. There are some to stear clear of, but the ones stated above should be ok.

    As DirX stated, ethernet ones are better, but the comp already needs to have a networking card installed.

    Grim, that is a dodgy install issue for your modem. Try un-installing it then re-installing, but dont plug the modem in until the software says to do it.

    I got all excited when I got BB and plugged the lot in then installed and goofed it up... an unistall, a cup of tea and a read of the installation instructions sorted me out.
