    T568B vs T5658A

Well, I have been spending time wiring up sockets (and have now stopped until I know the answer).

Whats the best system? I don't mind which I use (infact I have only finished 2 sockets so I can change them if I need to.

I haven't got my patch panel yet - but I am hearing that B is the industry standard?

Also what happens if you have an A cable, and A socket, and use a B on the patch panel? do you need the same cabling system on each node (Socket, Panel, Cables?)

Currently I have cables done different ways....

I believe I am right in assuming if all is A you are fine and all is B you are fine... but I want to know about the other situs...

I guess if you use B from socket to PC and B from patch panel to switch you are okay (i.e it doesn't matter what the bit in the middle is?

So I guess I need to buy a box of patch panel cables and wire to that?

AS long as youre consistent at both ends of the run it doesnt matter. (I.e B in socket +panel, A cable is fine) A socket B panel will screw you over. Ive never actually seen the point in having two seperate wiring standards. Theres nothing stopping youusing your own, after all, what color the wire is doesnt make a difference.

Yeah the main thing is I don't want to make the patch cables myself - so I guess I am tied to that standard.

According to the Manufacturers site they are A cables - so I am laughin - since thats what I have been using.

The main reason for doing all of this is my Digital Wardrobe Project
