"sobs" BT won't let me have broadband "sobs"

i finally decided to get broadband for my flat yesterday and decided to go with IDNet as they provided the best set of options for me.

anyway all was going well i recieved my confirmation email this morning say my order was being processed and tested.

then this afternoon a lovely IDNet CS agent (lovely voice that lady )
rang to inform me that BT had informed them that my local exchange (addiscome south london) was up to its maximum for broadband connections thru it so im now gonna have to wait until someone comes off or the upgrade the exchange with extra capacity

does anyone know if the max dsl rollout will increase exchange capacity?

i hope i dont have to wait to long else im gonna have to burn the oaps shelter across the road, i think theve all got bb line the buggers lol

ps i dont condone violence to oaps i just wantthere bb

Get a wireless card, if you live in a residential street i can pretty much guarantee youll get an unsecured signal from somewhere, might not be the best for gaming on, but at least its something

Have you considered cable as an alternative or is it not available in your area?

get friendly with the neighbours, perswade one of them who's on ADSL to goto telewest

failing that, get a few resistors, capacitors, and put them across someone who u dislikes phone line. Hopefully they will just get fed up with ADSL and move to cable

ADSL Max should be fully rolled out by the end of the month, according to BT (so that's probably never)

So long as you just use someones wireless just for email then despite the illegalities I condone it.

One of the reasons I love London and other major cities is the wireless access... piss my password security, who cares about sec. if I can still pick up my emails

Stayed at a friends in January, they thought it was great I had 4 APs (2 unsecured) to choose from.

Tbh honest if people are too dumb to even put a simple password on it then they deserve everything they get.

No matter what your stance is on this ethically, legally you can get arrested and prosecuted for that now.

I'd never go that far as most people who are un-protected are the sort of people who have 1 gig limits and stuff, so a quick email check on the move I've got no problem with. (fwiw I just have WEP - but that's primarily cause I live in the middle of a field... and I don't think the cows will we leeching my bandwidth).

I mean, im not advocating downloading all sorts, and if someone has wep on then i wouldnt crack it, derspite the fact its incredibly easy. But id have no qualms about checking hexus etc over someone elses wireless.
