Question ?modded firmware for Dlink DSL-G604t

Does anyone have any experience with running custom firmware on routers? Specifically linux based stuff. I am looking for any custom firmware that can run on a Dlink DSL-G604T adsl+router+wlan unit. Specifically I am interested in traffic shaping protocols similar to those found on the Dlink-4300 or on the linux gaming firewall here: http://www.langamereviews.com/content/view/144/2/

I think that router is a custom firmware rather than linux based, so it cant be replaced by an after market one. See the DD-WRT webpage for a list of compatible routers (most of those will have other firmwares available too) Your best bet is to see if your local pc world has any of the WRT54GS + wireless card bundles left, theyre a bargain at 50 quid, and the card will sell for 20 wuid on ebay easily

ooh, interesting .. there's a chance I might have an old wrt 54g lying around! Using Telewest these days of course which may be a problem as the adsl bit must be bypassed...

wrt54g is a cable router, it doesnt have an adsl bit, unless you mean the one you have is dsl, in which case you might get away with connecting the wan port on the wrt54g to one of the ports on your existing router.

edit: might be a WAG 54G ... what can't they have better naming systems (goes for most computing stuff actually ... grrr)
