    You would only pay the connection charge once.. according to their website it is a £24 connection fee.

    See this link: https://www.bethere.co.uk/homebroadband.do

    In todays Evening Mail (Birmingham) there is an advert from them. I think the code to try is ZONE to get monthly broadband at £20. Not sure if this is only for Brum.

    Im connected with Be* and getting a steady 18megabit/1.3megabit. Its absolutely fabulous and I fully recommend it. Also if you know anybody with the service, get their email address as that will give you a referral (and hence one months free internet). That is ontop of the free connection due to using the promotional codes.

    Hehe, a steady 950kb/s on torrents and when using a download manager i get upwards of 1.8Mb/s off quite a few sites.

    The best bit is the upload though, it makes hosting stuff so easy, can host huge multiplayer games and have my webserver sitting with tons of bandwidth aswell. They seem to be just about to start a fairly large expansion so you could be in luck.

    Its true it is fast, but being at uni I dont think I fully appreciate it. At Uni Im on JANET, which is a nice 100mbit to any site that is properly hosted. I commonly get 6Mb/s downloads especially from Microsoft and the like. I really hope the UK internet market doesnt get bogged down with price wars, some proper expansion would be so much more worthwhile.

    Sure, and for anybody else thinking of joining, some promo codes to use are

    promocode == "VIVA"
    promocode == "NOTOSLOW"
    promocode == "VIVAREV"
    promocode == "VIVABE"
    promocode == "BESTSPEED"
    promocode == "BESTBROADBAND"
    promocode == "THEBEST"
    promocode == "VITALITY"

    There might be one that doesnt work but it will tell you this when you type it in. Most of these will give you free activation, though there is one floating around that give you slightly cheaper monthly fees if you are thinking of staying for a while.

    Then if you use a current Be member as your referrer you will also get 1 free months internet.
