    Network Design Help!

I have got to a stage now where i need to design my network for the clients.

The network will be used for gaming and internet use so i would like to have it as fast as possible, behind the scenes we have 3 servers which i think we will need on a 100mbit network then i think we will have the clients on a 10/100mbs network.

Iam just after some advice or diagrams to show how you would go about doing this and also advice on hardware, for the router i have looked into a Vigor2600V which looks promising.

    Many Thanks

How many clients are going to be on the network?

If you go for Gigabit switches most newer network adapters support this speed which will be plenty for your needs, although it depends on the number of clients and what you run on the network.

Switches should do it, and maybe a vlan configuration for simple deployment.

10 Clients, 1 Administrator (Front Desk), 3 Servers, 1 Router, VOIP Stations, Printer.

Does the server need protecting e.g. Access Control Lists? Can only the admin front desk PC and maybe some other addresses access admin ports on servers/routers? I'd start defining who can do what and where first, then design network.

The server does not need protecting, the front desk computer will be the only machine that can access the server and the same for the routers.
