Ace Internet

Does any one know anything about Ace internet?? I have spoken to them and they claim that under no circumstances do they cap or traffic shape their lines. It is £29.99exc VAT per month for an 8meg line. To me this seems really good value compared to most isps who offer capped 8meg lines for £30inc VAT.

Does anyone know if they are good or not as the genuinely seem to offer an uncapped 8meg service

go to adslguide.org for people opinions which in the main are very good at the moment. Ace are currently building up a decent fan base to be honest Seem to be quick to sort things out customer service is decent and they say they will close applications for more users rather than accept more users rather than introduce a cap etc. If pipex dont roll out max next month then im off and Ace is where im going at the moment.

well, i signed up to ACE's 8meg Home service so i'll tell you guys what its like once i'm up and running

yeah please do Pipex have just over a month after that is MAC time me thinks. Ive found out that Ace are a reseller as opposed to owning their own pipes so the goal posts could change quiet quick, but as long as they are honest about caps etc then i dont mind its the under handed ways that the isps are going about it and 1gb caps??? wtf? is that all about?

will do......i have a provisional date from ACE for the 29th but i'm sure when BT get their arses in gear that will drop to some time next week. Also, ACE have a 3 month contract (still with free setup) whereby you can leave after this for free (i have this confirmed in writing). So if they do introduce caps its no biggie, you just leave. As long as these guys are better than Plusnet, i'll be happy

Theya re very good. Im on there 2mb now. there was a problem with BT where they did not retrain my line to the buisnees 8mb version and instead jsut switched my 2mb from Zen to the 2mb from Ace. it is due to go max on monday. Excellent customer server as well.

Got an email thru from them today saying that I will be going live sometime after 6.30pm on thursday evening. Which is a bit of a bummer as i have a gig on thursday night so i wont be able to play until after work on Friday Still as thats my biggest complaint so far I am at the moment really pleased. I'll report back after I have had a play over the weeked

I just moved house and am finally getting back up and running on the internet. Think I'll give these fellas a go. Certainly sounds promising and tells me I can get 6.5 Meg line according to their checker, which will be a great improvement from freedom2surf that I had before I think.

Well im not too pleased atm. It seems my adsl max conversion is taking forever. It was suppost to be set up last monday but instead i was just put on the 2mb version normal. (even though im still paying for 8mb adsl max). I was told my line would be max enabled yesterday and now im told its going to be wednesday instead.(lets remember it also takes the line 10 days or more to train so really i will have lost near a month of which i paid the full price for half the service).

Not happy to be honest. It probably won't be done tomorrow either as im taking what theys ay now with a grain of salt considring whats happened so far. It's been the longest migration i've ever had and it isnt finished yet. I should have stayed on the 2mb with zen to be honest. It was more stable also.

Maybe when i finally get Max ill be more eager to give a reccomendation to Ace but at the minute i can only report whats happened thus far. The CS are very prompt but it still doesnt give me Max so theres only so far CS can go.

Will post back tomorrow to tell you if i got connected or not and if so what the speeds are like.

Yea it is. Its jsut you can only blame your isp at the time. I got connected to ace today and here is my speeds
