Ok so im thinking either going for a version 4 Linksys WRT54GS
or a
Buffalo WLA2-G54L. So im wondering which two go for out of the two?
Any input on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Which model are you running? any other reason why you like your linksys?
I've that exact model (v1 or 2 I think).
It's rock solid, rarely have to reboot - one of these days I'll get round to putting something like wrt on it.

Waka, which router were you reffering to?
bump in the night
Hi! Mines a WAG354G, I liked it becasue its been waaaaay more stable then any other router I've installed. Haven't had a problem yet.

Linksys, superb.
Although not the same models, I used to a have a Linksys WAG54v2 (combined modem/router), and Buffalo WYR-G54 (older generation router). I currently have a Buffalo WHR-HP-54 (new generation router).
The Linksys died after about 6 months although until that time it had performed very well with no problems. Haven't had any problems with either of the Buffalo routers, which I think are also very good. Subjctively, the WHR-HP-54 seems faster than the others when wireless encryption is enabled.

I meant the Linksys WRT54GS - it's very good.

My linksys and the service during the warranty period was great.
There is NO SERVICE after the warranty period, paid or otherwise - not using them again.
(their competitors may or not be better - but they just haven't failed for me to try them out yet)
Why does that surprise you? Its a commodity part with a three (iirc) year warranty, theres nothing in there that is cheaper to fix than buy a new oneOriginally Posted by speardane
Using the Linksys one...very reliable and great signal all the time. It's also a doddle to setup too.
actually, v1 of it can have the mini pci card swapped out..... which would be cheaper.....Originally Posted by herulach
another thumbs up for the linksys from me currently using a Netgear but out of the two mentioned id def go for linksys mate
