    Question The dreaded red X???

    Hi all
    I cant view video clips in IE any more?? ( i can view all pictures )
    also when a page is loading up all the pictures and icons show the missing applet sign then load up which never used to happen.
    In firefox i get a error message saying
    npdsplay
    "can not create direct show player"
    I have made sure my java is up to date but at as loss as what to do now
    any help please
