    Bulldog or NTL?

I've been with bulldog on their 8mbit unlimited service for a year with no problems but I have to move house a few streets away on the 26th of this month.

Unlike this street the new place appears to be served by ntl. So do I stay with bulldog or go with ntl? I'd prefer a service with fast speeds and high upload. I also really want one with no caps and no shaping. Does anyone know how good ntl are and if they use shaping on their lines? Or are there other good isps out there that fit this criteria?

I am tempted to stick with bulldog if their 16/1mbit lines are available here.

    Thanks,

    dodgybob

Ive been with bulldog, and they were total sh1te for me, i've just put an order in with NTL only because the TV/Phone/Net package was really good so i hope NTL will be the better option

Yup I wouldn't recommend Bulldog, especially since they're pulling out of the retail sector and moving into wholesale.

ive been with ntl since i had dial-up and haven't had any major problems with them, we get the tv/telephone/broadband package and its excellent and after a year or 2 just phone them up and say ur leaving, and they give u an even better deal!

I am thinking of going with NTL too. Just wish thier prices were a bit better as i don't want a TV and phone package.

Same here. 10mb/512k (i think, not tried uploading anything for ages) uncapped now, £34.99. The price isn't great, but the service for me is 99.9% solid, and hit download speeds in excess of 1180k. Which is nice.

I've had nothing but good experience with NTL in my student house (Cambridge) and Telewest at the moment (NW London).

Wonderfully, the house I'm buying this summer is served by NTL

NTL have problems with their DNS servers constantly where i live and sometimes my internet goes to 28.8kbps i wouldn't recommend either really...Cable is really bad especially in my area (too many people use it)

Do NOT touch Bulldog with a very large pole. C&W are dumping them and they are getting out of the consumer market anyway.

I've got nothing but the highest praise for NTL. Yes their tech support is a bit flakey (I think I've had to call them once in a year), but their customer support has been consistantly awesome for me. Yes their DNS's are rubbish...so use someone elses ;-)

2Mbps has just had a free upgrade to 4Mbps uncapped - and that's what you'll get. None of this claimed 16Mbps rubbish from Bullsh*te that will be nowhere near that.

    No contest really...

supposedly the recent problems have been dut to Denial of Service attacks.
Don't know that's really a good excuse for a major ISP though...

    Go for another ISP
