File sharing over a network via hub?

I've got a very simple setup - two machines both connected by cable to a Linksys WRT54G wireless router/hub. I want to be able to swap files between them. Seems like it should be simpler than it is.

I've switched on file and printer sharing on one PC and created a dedicated shared folder on the hard disk. I can see the domain on my other system (called mshome by default) but the shared folder isn't visible when I try to map it to a drive or browse network places.

What the heck do I do now?

Do what now? I right-clicked on the folder, properties, shared and shared with network. Is that what you mean?

If your folder is shared as "Network" and the computer sharing it is called "Computer1"

then try using \\Computer1\Network or at least \\Computer1

Depends on how your XP is configurated it should ask you for username and password (for the another computer) to access it.

Then if you want to mount it, in Map network drive, there is "Connect using a different user name".
