Do you have PHP, aps, ruby etc installed? (only need one of them) Do you have a MySQL database or an alternative?

Once you know the answer to those questions you can either write it yourself or have a look at the relevent section of Hot Scripts. In the past I have found stuff on this site to be fairly safe - just go for the stuff with high ratings and a large number of users if you're worried.

e.g. if using PHP go to http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/Script...ers/index.html

You could use a free counter.

statcounter.com and they provide stats on visitors etc

I don't want to mess with code right now, so a simple version would be good

Is there a way to get one visible like the ebay ones?
