cheap and good are not always the same thing...
what would you rather? Presume that the two are mutually exclusive.

Would you prefer awesome customer service, and a local call rate for trouble?

Or cheap but an expensive call rate, and long delays in response?

(anyone see where I'm going with this? )

I've tried a few, but BT always seem to come through the best. Boring, slightly more expensive, but I aint had any down time in 2 years now and the speeds are the max in my area.

Well i have not had a problem with F2S but apparently their CS is not quite as good as it used to be as they were taken over by pipex.

    I use IDNET (www.idnet.net)

Best customer service I've ever experienced and speeds are pretty damn nice too

prefer the awesome one tbh - every time. Might be a little more costly BUT you don't want to fall into the trap of thinking "Cheap is Good" Much nicer if you a) Don't have to use the customer service in the first place and b) if when you do, it'll be a pleasant, productive experience.

    I'd choose IDNET any day

They answer help calls even out of hours. Leave a message and they call you back in about 2 minutes.

IDNET doesn't charge for transfers from another ISP

Contention is the usual UK 20:1 afaik

I get great speeds so far on DSL MAX (6400) and my pings are always very low

Cheap = very poor line quality and very poor customer service, in my experience.

I have the £14.99 per month service from Plusnet on one of my lines (up to 8Mb/s): no peer-to-peer, lots of downtime and virtually non-existant customer services (in fact, I just got an e-mail from Plusnet this morning making excuses for their very poor custmer service). However, for non-critical applications, general Web-suring and e-mails, it is fine.

My other line (at another property) is with Nildram and costs £25.99 per month for up to 2Mb/s. Here I can enjoy virtually unlimited downloads (if I do the bulk of my downloading between midnight and 8.00 when it is unmetered), almost 100% uptime for the line itself and excellent, efficient and knowledgeable customer service staff. Even being bought out by Pipex has not, so far, affected Nildram's top-notch performance. I use this line when i'm working from home and need constant uptime. I'm lucky in that I can expense the cost of this line to my company so it's not actually costing me anything at the moment.

You pays your money and takes your choice...

    Zen are pretty good :

    http://www.zen.co.uk/

I would go with the 'You get what you pay for' argument.

    Good support and connection speed.

    Cheers

Im gunna go with nildram for now as its slightly cheaper and still good.

Its only a 1 month contract so i can always change - im just gunna make sure there are no penaltys for doing so.

    Thanks for your helP!!!
