    Question Freeserve and Orange

When trying to go to the freeserve website, it redirects to Orange

So i called oranges technical support and they were about as much use as a chocolate teapot!

Does anyone know if there is a direct number to someone that deals with Freeserve's support?

pop.freeserve.com has been down for the last three days and I have a client that needs their email as they are loosing business!!

    Thanks

i am on freeserve and email is ok. It might be the account has gone dormant, have you tried reactivating on [URL="http://help.orange.co.uk/documentDisplay.do?clusterName=DefaultCluster&preview=1&groupId=1&page=http://ESERVER_6909a6dc-39e6-43ad-87c5-d7f3486ca8ba.xhtml&docType=1006&resultType=5002&docProp=$solution_id&docPropValue=kb194"]

Orange now owns Wanadoo which was Freeserve... they should be able to help. www.orange.co.uk

have you tried changing your mail settings to read pop.orange.net instead of what you had. However old freeserve and wanadoo settings should still work

The existing settings point to pop.freeserve.com which no longer exists.

Their user id also is currently user@userdomain.fsnet.co.uk

What do i need to change for it to work on Orange now?

The account has been checked everyday except for the last three days when it stopped working.

    Thanks

I don't what sort of account it is, but if it is PAYG, then you have to dial up every 60 days or so, otherwise the account go dormant, regardless if you check the email not physically dialing up into Freeserve/Wanadoo/Orange.

I have a *@*.freeserve.co.uk and have not changed any settings, and it is still working.

Try changing the setting to pop3.wanadoo.com or mail.wanadoo.com. I use one or the other (can't remember which, sorry!) without any problems. I'll check on my home PC when I get home.
