which cat 5 or 6 for video

    Hi all
Looking to set up a home network that will eventually be used for streaming video & mp3's round the house but initially be used for allowing a couple of access point for the kids to connect to the internet.
So point being i want to cable the whole house with access points and get the cable run when i get a few days off in a couple of weeks .
So which cable to use the max run from the server & cable modem will be 16M.
    Thanks
    Robert

well, i reckon if ur doing the whole house, u might as well do it gigabit for future compatibility. In this case, it'll be a toss up between cat 5e and 6, as cat 5 only does 100Mbs. On this website theres a comparison between cat 5e and 6, but bearing in mind that 1m cat 6 costs 8p more than 1m of cat5e, you might as well just go for cat6, again for future compatibility.

maplin fair enough u have to crimp it urself, but if ur doing the whole house, its worth it to get the exact measurements
