    Max DSL (8mb) and gaming

    Dear all,

I have just been upgraded to 8mb/Max DSL and i have read some where that the default settings are not good for low ping rates i.e gaming.

There's something that you can request to have turned off to improve these rates but i cant remember what it is.

Can anyone out there advise me what that is.

    Thanks all
    Darren

Just so everyone knows its called "Interleaving". If you do online gaming and are on max dsl/8mb then you need to request this to be disabled to get the best ping rates.

Be warned, the stability might drop.

interleave is not so much disabled, its a choice between fast-path and interleave and interleave is no good for gaming as it may introduce delays so fast-path is best way to go, on a less positive note training speed may not be as good on fast-path than interleave if you're on a connection that is already not training at full speed which may cause dropping connection. Best thing is to ask your ISP to set your connection speed to match the training speed if not already the case.
