    Beating*the*network

    ooooook,

ive got this problem here guys,

im a student at my local grammar school,

    doin a-level ict,

as were young , we like to rage against this system,

the school obviously has a network with a filserver,

as we can never be bothered to do wot the teacher actually tells us to do, we sit and play games all day, but were sorely restrivted to games the fit on floppy disks, this sucks.

so i was oping that someone could help advise me on how to get a like a filsharing thing going, the comps are connected with patch cables, and i can install FLASH FXP on the machines, and can find out the ip of the different computeres, so what should i do next guys?

a bit of help would go a long way.

post if u need more info before u can supply me with an answer,

    im counting on someone outhere!!!

That is the worst excuse for rebellion I have seen in quite a while. What's the point in rebelling without a cause other than the just plain rebellion? Seems slightly pointless to me.

Why are you doing an A Level, if you don't plan on studying anything? Also quite pointless, IMHO. Get yourself a job, or do some work - you'll thank yourself when you grow up. Of course... you're not going to pay any attention to my advice, though, are you? No. Why? You're a rebel. You're rebelling. What against? Nothing in particular.. just feel like it TBH!

We managed to get an 8 player game of Duke Nukem going on a Locked down Novell network a few years ago, and you are having trouble with what seems like not even remotely secured machines? I think you need someone who knows what they are doing to help you. Try asking the lecturer, maybe he knows.....

Maybe you'll take notice of someone with a few more posts..

    Grow up.

If you can't work out how to set up basic things like that, then you really need to be paying more attention to the ICT course.

If you can't be bothered to learn it then why are you even there?
You're only wasting your tutor's time as well as your own.

<sensible hat>doing some work in school would be more benficial than playing games</sensible hat>

installing ftp software on the boxes wont help you if you cant bring more than 1.44 meg in with you ?

what about a usb drive ?

if the system is locked down then you wont really have much of a chance and if your admin is worth his rich tea biscuits , he/she will find you and ensure that you get in a whole world of hurt.

Free Advice: a number of people on this forums are Schools admins ( myself included ), so if you think you are going to get " a n00bs guide to hax0ring yuor (sic) skule" , you have a lot to learn.

Why not start at your ICT class ?
