Router - Midband (isdn)

OK so im just about to get midband - cos i cant get broadband :(

- for those that dont know midband is basicly Homehighway with BT's own ISP, and a few extra features

- any way i have two PC s currently networked (directly with an xover) and i whated to get a router :) so i can share the conection, add a third PC and not have to have one pc on while the other is on the net etc

- my dad has come up with this list (seen here)

and i was wondering - which one i should get :)

- i dont what so spend more than i have to, dial-on-demand would be good, i'd like not to have one that go a 10mb/s hub tho

and also how does it cope with the whole 64k or 128k thing:confused:

I don't have a clue about the routers listed, but whatever you do don't get a 3com office connect net builder!

I had one when I had ISDN - i set it up by accident, after about a week of messing with it.

You usually specify whether to use dual channel or not - so don't worry about the 64/128k "thing."

I'd say get a one port router and hook it up to a cheap 10/100 switch too.

If you dot mind paying a bit then I cant recommend the D-Link DI-304 router enough.... Top class piece of kit that kept me extremely happy for the few months I had ISDN.... DHCP server, NAT, Firewall and a 4 port 10/100 switch built in.

ok the BT bloke is coming round on monday (should have come on friday) to fitt the midband box and install everthing etc

so i could do with getting a router ASAP

yes Richie thats a good bit of kit if your isdn based , have you sold it on or do you still have it.

Sold it on Ebay about a month back since changing to ADSL. Expensive when new (£120 from Ebuyer) but I would buy another in a heartbeat if I was back on ISDN.
