Was thinking about doing it but cant in the end.

Theres a 30 day cancellation period.

Who are you moving to? I think i read somewhere on Bulldog ADSL site about how to move over, and theres something like a 5day downtime.

I wouldn't have thought it would take long seeing as though you're staying with the same company. Surely all it takes is some settings changed at the exchange or whatever they need to do? (if anyone knows what they do, I'd be interested to know )

I am in the process of changing ISP's from BT 512k to Zen 512k and the lead time is about 3 weeks, which according to Zen, is all up to BT.

So I would guess not long of you're not changing ISP.

Don't you think it takes a stupid amount of time to transfer from one company to another? What the hell are they actually doing?

I would love to know why it takes that long.

    MIGRATION ORDERS
If you have ordered a migration from your existing broadband service provider to Zen Internet, the current lead time is approximately 4 weeks from your date of order to the date that you will begin to use Zen's services.

PS not sure what its like for other companies

My 512Kbps -> 1Mbps Eclipse upgrade took about 1 week, put down as a BT lead time for them to check the circuit could cope.

I think its probably more of a case of Eclipse trying to get the lazy goits at BT to double click on your adsl connection and click 1mb/s in the drop down box instead of 0.5mb/s and then click the submit button. That could take BT up to 4 weeks, so eclipse are just covering themselves.

I didn't notice any outage whatsoever.
Checked one day and the router said 512kbps connection, the next day (without even a reset of the router) it was 1024kbps.
