    print sharing probs

My home network has two pc with xp pro on the main pc and xp home on the second. The main pc has the printer connected .
The pc's are connected through an Netgear RP614 router, they have been sharing the printer for about 4 months with no problems until about 4 weeks ago, when the second pc just would not let us print.
Both pc's have print & file sharing enabled and the printers are set to sharing.

I get the following error: Cannot link common resource. DLL .

Below are the things i have done so far.

i have uninstalled the printer from the main pc and removed the printer
from the second pc, i have then reinstalled the printer to the main pc, then
on the second pc used the add printer wizard and selected "browse a network
for a printer". It then detects the printer and installs it both machines
have the same print driver installed.
this time after the install, on the second pc i decided to try the "Print
Test Page" came back with the same error as above, but when i went down to
the printer it had printed the page : , so i then tried to print
from word 2000 came back with the same error message and did not print, then
tried to print from note pad same error but the page printed.

Is it possible the above DLL is damaged, if it is can i replace it if so
    from where.

Just installed the epson software on the other pc but no luck, strange thing is that we no longer get the Error message from before it just does not print anymore from that machine.

I'm wondering if you might have updated windows and it's causing a little trouble with your printer driver. Have you downloded the latest printer driver?

Try installing the drivers with the printer setup as local on both machines, then connect the printer to the main pc and set it up as a network printer on the guest pc. (without uninstalling the drivers)

Hopefully it should use the drivers you've installed and that (hopefully) work.
