    Sky Broadband

I'm currently with BE, whilst they are great etc its still £24 a month which I feel is a little too expensive. I was just looking at Sky and they do a £10 a month package for the same service.

Anyone got any experience with Sky Broadband?

Had it for 2 weeks now and its been flawless in that time. activation took 7 days but was done a day earlier than advised, hardware seems to function without fault for me, however some people have had issues.

See my post here: http://forums.hexus.net/showthread.php?t=87495 for more info.

Cheers mate, sounds good think I'm gonna give it a go. Will Sky do all the leg work for me or will I have to cancel my ISP first then call them?\

edit - crap, BE require a three month notice of me wanting to leave or it will be £50

You will need to get a PAC code from your ISP if you wish to transfer. I couldnt in my case as i was connected to another LLU (Tiscali i believe) they did give me some nonsense about an alternative transfer process but i said shove it and just cancelled then ordered as i could handle a week without internet.
IIRC BE uses easynets LLU so you may be able to transfer with minimum downtime, however dont quote me on this.
Sky will actually send over an engineer round to plug your router into your phone socket and the mains if you lack the capability/motivation to do it yourself but this will come with a longer wait, however i dont think you will be needing that service

I was really looking forward to Sky Broadband until I found out it won't be available where I live.

I can get the Sky Connect service but that's £17 a month with a 40Gb cap.
