    Port Forwarding

Ive got myself a WRT54GS with the original firmware installed. I am able to flash it to a hacked firmware but havent got round to it yet.

The problem which im having is however im running out of slots for port forwarding. There are 10 slots which you can use and ive pretty much used them all. Now I may have configured this in the wrong way but not too sure. What id like to know is there anyway for me to have access to more port forwarding slots or am I pretty much stuck?

If any of the applications running on the PC which require having ports forwarded to support UPnP, you can use that to free up the static port forwarding on the router.

Although I do wonder what you're doing which requires more than 10 different ranges of port forwarding!

If the majority of port forwarding is to one PC, you could put that PC on the DMZ, add a firewall and then that would just leave the occasional port forwarding for other PCs

I have a modified firmware in my WRT54G but can't remember if it offers more than 10 slots.

I did think I may have been doing something wrong. Ill have a look to see if I can work out how to use the DMZ. If you could let me know if you are able to get more than 10 slots though, id like to know how you managed that!

as indicated in the post above you can enable Upnp in some applications that will then create a rule dynamically.

Ive used it with Torrent clients for convienence
